Terms of Service
Last updated: 20 October 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Thrower (“the App”), made and operated by Bond Consultancy Ltd (“we”, “our”, “us”). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. What the App does
The App uses your phone’s camera to score knife and axe throws at a wooden target, keep your games, and run timed “Quick draw” duels. Scores and times are worked out automatically and may be wrong; you can correct a score in the App. The rules and officials of your venue, club or competition always take precedence over the App.
2. Safety
Knife and axe throwing is dangerous and can cause serious injury. You are responsible for throwing safely and for following your venue’s rules and the law where you live.
- The App cannot tell whether the lane is clear. Nothing in the App means it is safe to throw, or safe to approach the target.
- Place your phone out of the line of throw, to the side of the lane, and never stand in the lane to use it.
- Only go to the phone or the target when no one is throwing.
- Do not use the App to throw at anything other than a proper target.
3. Who may use the App
You must be old enough to take part in knife and axe throwing under your venue’s rules and the law where you live. If you are under 18, you may use the App only with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian.
4. Your account
An account is optional. If you create one, you must give a valid email address and keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time in the App (Delete Your Account).
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- reverse engineer, copy or modify the App, except as the law allows;
- interfere with the App, its servers or other users’ data;
- use the App for anything unlawful, or type offensive content into it (for example as player names).
6. Intellectual property
The App, its design and its content belong to Bond Consultancy Ltd. Your games and the names you type remain yours.
7. Changes and availability
We may update, change or stop parts of the App at any time. We aim to keep your games available, but the App and the backup are provided without a guarantee that they will always be available or error-free.
8. Limitation of liability
The App is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for:
- any injury, loss or damage arising from knife or axe throwing, whether or not the App was in use;
- wrong scores, times or results;
- loss of games or other data;
- any indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded, such as the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where it applies.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
